CUE-CARD PRESENTATION

Describe a film or a TV programme which has made a strong impression on you.

You should say:
what kind of film or TV programme it was, e.g. comedy
when you saw the film or TV programme
what the film or TV programme was about
and explain why this film or TV programme made such an impression on you.

Well, there is wide range of TV programs which I like to watch but the most interesting one is HASB E HALL. It is played on Dunya News TV channel. It is informative-cum-entertaining program. There are main three participants in this program. Sohail Ahmed as azizi, Junaid and Nadia. Frankly speaking, I saw this program last year when I was sitting in front of TV and navigating channels. Suddenly, I came across this channel. It is about imitating the evil practices done by politician and people on the helm of affairs. Azizi ridicules those who are corrupt in nature. This program left great impact on my personality as I came to know about the leakage of unbelievable frauds. I came to know that those who pose them to be honest are, in real sense, venoms in disguise.

To be true, cinema going is a diversified phenomenon depending upon region and interest of people. In country like India, people are crazy to go to cinema irrespective of their income status. But, Pakistan is a country, where cinema industry has lost its grace due to its poor performance in producing attractive films.

In your opinion, will this trend continue into the future?
Truthfully speaking, the trend of going to cinema will continue too in future. Every day, producers are producing new movies which are fascinating the people. Another important factor is that of materialism which is making people get bored and this allows movies to sprawl its popularity.

Well, it seems interesting to talk about this topic. In my opinion, this trend will continue in future as there is no end of happiness and leisure activities in future. So, this trend will of course continue in future.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of making films of real-life events?
Quite interestingly, making films on real life events deals with the objective approach of life. People come to know about the real picture of life which is usually blurred in front of most of people. But the story-writers of movies go deep into the study of social events and then make people aware. On the contrary, there are certain disadvantages of such realities as it causes social chaos as well.

How important do you think it is for a film-maker to remain true to the original story?
Literally speaking, association of film-maker to original story has divergent approach. Sometimes, it is beneficial whereas most of the time, it invites number of problems for masses. Everyone has one’s own bent of mind which usually incapacitated to judge the things on merit.

Should films and television be censored or should we be free to choose what we see?
Factually speaking, most of the time, subject matter of films and television is too sensitive to be brought on air. So, in this regard, only those things can be produced which are according to the culture of a country.
