PART 2

Describe an interesting historic place.

You should say:
what it is
where it is located
what you can see there now
and explain why this place is interesting.

Honestly speaking, the historical place which mesmerized me is Punjab Public Library. It is an old building built on 1865 in the era of viceroy Litton. It is located near civil secretariat of Punjab adjacent to Church Square. It is very strong building red in color surrounded by most important buildings like NCA, missionary school and Punjab Irrigation department as well. I can observe the great Muslim and English architecture. The grandeur of building reminds me the awesome history of United India. It has an attached mazy building meant for reading newspaper right now. At that time, I didn’t know the exact usage of that part of building at that time. Might be it was made for hide and seek. This building is pretty much interesting for me because it has become center of attention for the people due to hub of knowledge and information. I spent great chunk of my time there in the lap that amazing building.

PART 3

How do people in your country feel about protecting historic buildings?
It will not be an exaggeration if I claim that people have divergent opinion regarding protection of historical buildings. Some are of the view that it is needless to work on historical buildings as every age sets its own history. On the contrary, other asserts that these historical buildings should be protected because they are hallmark of dignity of a nation.

Do you think an area can benefit from having an interesting historic place locally? In what way? Truly speaking, the worth of area increases with the presence of historical building. As, there is great flux of foreigners at a historical building, it incites investors to drain their money in the field of tourism.

What do you think will happen to historic places or buildings in the future? Why?
As per my point of view, the future of historical buildings is pretty drastic. Age of materialism has evolved busy schedules of lives for human beings who will have least time even to thing about buildings rather they will only work on means of earning and spending their times while understanding latest technological innovations.

How were you taught history when you were at school?
Categorically speaking, I was taught history with the help of work sheets and atlas. I was shown videos pertaining to historical happenings. I came to know about the frenzy of human race which did both wonderful things and most ridiculous ones and it is evident in the subject of history.

Are there other ways people can learn about history, apart from at school? How?
Factually, it is the historical buildings and other objects which can be helpful to know about history. A lot of work on internet regarding history has been done which helps the people to learn about history without going to schools.
